Astérix in Lusitania: The Definitive Cover Revealed

The wait is nearly over for fans of the indomitable Gauls. On 23 October 2025, Astérix in Lusitania will be released, the 41st adventure in the legendary series created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. Written by Fabcaro and illustrated by Didier Conrad, the new album takes Astérix, Obélix, and Idéfix westward to the Roman province of Lusitania, known today as Portugal.

The story begins when a former Lusitanian slave, familiar to readers from The Mansions of the Gods, seeks help from the Gauls. Knowing about the magic potion, he convinces Astérix and Obélix to set out on a journey that promises new landscapes, encounters, and of course plenty of clashes with Romans.

The definitive cover for the album has now been unveiled, giving readers their first official glimpse of the adventure to come. With research trips, historical insights, and the trademark humor of the series, Astérix in Lusitania looks set to continue the tradition of mixing comedy with history in grand style.

Judging from the cover we might get to see Ekonomikrisis (Epidemaïs) again as well. And who is the sneaky fellow spying on our friends?

In the official webshop over on asterix.com (that won’t let you ship to any country except for France, Germany and Belgium) you can pre-order the album, the deluxe album and the artbook version of the album. That last one will set you back 200 euro. Luckily there is bdaddik.com.
