07 Idefix NL Lurtetia Knalt
Dutch

Set in 52 B.C. during the Roman occupation of Lutetia, the seventh volume sees Dogmatix (Idéfix) and his band of irrepressible urban-resisting animals return with three brand‑new escapades. Authored by Olivier Serrano, Lison D’Andréa, and Philippe Clerc, and brought to life in vivid detail by artist Philippe Fenech with Sylvaine Scomazzon’s vibrant coloring, this 72-page softcover released on October 9, 2024 continues the spirit of animated mischief and gallant defiance that defines the series.

Notice! This album isn’t translated into English yet. The translations of the titles are my own. I will update them as soon as the album gets translated.

La Traversée de Lutèce (The Crossing of Lutetia)

When a string of thefts leads the Romans to impose a citywide curfew, the streets of Lutetia fall ominously silent by night. But Idéfix and his friends—Gluttonix, Stamina, Bantera, Asmatix, and more—take to the shadows to uncover the truth. A daring nocturnal mission ensues, pitting the clever animals against Roman patrols as they race to expose the thief and restore freedom to their beloved streets.

Vocalises au caveau (Vocalises in the Vault)

Next, the city buzzes with curiosity when a celebrated singer begins haunting taverns and drawing crowds. Lentix might seem reformed—but is he, or is something more sinister at play? With the druid Amnésix missing, the Irreductibles spring into action, using clever disguises and keen ears to unmask the true culprit hiding beneath the tunes).

Labienus légionnaire (Labienus the Legionary)

In the final story, prefect Pleindastus plots to embezzle Lutetia’s gold reserves and must sidestep suspicion from General Labienus. His solution? Demote the general to a mere legionary. Offended and determined to regain his status, Labienus joins forces—reluctantly—with Dogmatix and the gang to recover his rank, leading to a humorous alliance between occupied and occupier.

Creative Team

This volume showcases the talents of a creative team dedicated to the series’ growth. Olivier Serrano, Lison D’Andréa, and Philippe Clerc contribute layered, witty storylines that capture youthful adventure while echoing classic Asterix charm. Philippe Fenech, the primary artist, continues to lend dynamic, expressive illustrations that balance humor and historical ambiance. Sylvaine Scomazzon’s color work ties it all together, conveying nighttime cityscapes, tense chases, and comedic energy through a rich and vibrant palette.

These albums honor the legacy of Asterix creators Goscinny and Uderzo while offering a distinct, animal‑centric perspective. La Traversée de Lutèce reflects both continuity and evolution in storytelling, drawing on its predecessors yet charting new routes of resistance, friendship, and canine courage in Roman Lutetia.

This album followed La forêt lumière while the follow up À la poursuite du flacon vert was released in 2025.
