My Dogmatix and Panacea mugs

I promised myself not to buy too many of the Asterix Mugs. Why would I need 70 coffee mugs anyway?

Anyway, in the meantime I have added a few more mugs to my collection that I wanted to share with you. I have already written about the Asterix and Obelix mugs and the one that features Cacofonix. Without further ado here are my Dogmatix and Panacea mugs.

Dogmatix

The original French name of Dogmatix is of course Idéfix. The first time Dogmatix appeared was in album number five; Asterix and the Banquet. We meet him outside a butcher’s shop and when our heroes, Asterix and Obelix, leave, he starts following them. Readers of Pilote magazine were asked to name the little dog and they named him Idéfix.

The quote is quite simple “Ouah ! Ouah ! Ouah !”, in English that would be “Woof! Woof! Woof!”. We can only guess as to what Dogmatix is trying to tell us.

Panacea

The mug featuring the beautiful Panacea (Falbala in French) is the sixth mug in the collection. We meet Panacea for the first time in the album Asterix the Legionary. She has always been a fan favourite. Why that is? I have no idea. The quote on Panacea’s mug reads “Oh ! Quelles Jolies Fleurs !”, which is French for “Oh! What pretty flowers!”.

More to come …

In the meantime I have ordered just a few more mugs … but these are really the last ones … probably. Stay tuned for more.
