Deux Romains en Gaule

Deux Romains en Gaule (Two Romans in Gaul) was the title of a French television program from 1967 that combines history, satire and humor. It was written by Pierre Tchernia, a prominent figure in French television, with input from René Goscinny. Albert Uderzo made some drawings for the program.

The program is relatively obscure outside of France. While it holds a notable place in French television history because of the involvement of Tcherina, Goscinny and Uderzo its international reach has been minimal.

Story

The story of Deux Romains en Gaule unfolds during the Roman conquest of Gaul. It centers around two Roman legionaries, Rufus and Arfée, who find themselves at odds with both their own empire and the rebellious Gauls.
