Idéfix et le druide

In Idéfix et le druide, (No English title has been announced yet, but Dogmatix and the Druid seems likely) the fifth installment of the Dogmatix and the Indomitables series, readers follow Dogmatix (Idéfix) and his band of faithful animal companions as they launch into their first full-length adventure—departing from the shorter story format of previous volumes.
Meeting old friends
Set against the backdrop of Roman-occupied Lutetia, the story opens with a series of nightly disappearances: dogs vanishing without a trace. As Dogmatix and company investigate, they cross paths with the legendary druid Getafix, who is in town incognito to acquire a golden sickle—but is robbed of his satchel in the process. We also meet the druid Amnesix, whom was first introduced in Asterix and the Big Fight, again.
Drawing on courage, cleverness, and even a taste of magic potion, the animals band together to uncover who is behind the canine abductions—while simultaneously aiding Getafix. The tale builds a charming bridge between the familiar Asterix universe and this animal-led spin-off, as readers witness Dogmatix’ very first interaction with the druid himself.
Great album

Matthieu Choquet crafts a narrative that’s both engaging for younger audiences and respectful of the source material’s spirit by maintaining witty pacing and light-hearted humor. Philippe Fenech’s artwork echoes Uderzo’s visual warmth and expressiveness, with vibrant character portrayals and clear storytelling panels.
This volume stands apart from earlier entries by offering a single, cohesive plot rather than a collection of shorter episodes. As such, it allows for deeper character interplay—particularly highlighting Idéfix’s ingenuity and resourcefulness in solving mysteries alongside his companions, Stamina, Bantera, Gluttonix, and the appearance of Getafix.
At 72 pages in length, the album provides a satisfying, stand-alone adventure while fitting neatly between Les Irréductibles font leur cirque and La Forêt lumière in the series chronology. As of yet no release date for an English release has been announced.
