Spotlight: Orm’s collection

Sometimes a passion begins with something small, and before you realize it, it has grown far beyond what you ever expected—until suddenly you find yourself the proud owner of a vast Asterix collection. My own journey into collecting Asterix translations began with a single German edition purchased at a service station along the autobahn.

For Orm, whose focus lies more in Asterix memorabilia, the story is similar. His collection probably began with a small toy figure—picked up at a flea market in France, though he isn’t entirely sure anymore. What is certain is that this modest beginning has grown into an extraordinary treasure: more than 3,200 Asterix-related objects.

With help from his wife, Orm gradually transformed their home into a charming Asterix mini-museum. His collection spans a remarkable range: board games, computer games, promotional items, chess sets, figurines, stamps, and of course a substantial number of albums. A collection of this size naturally attracts attention, and Orm’s passion has already been featured in several newspaper articles and news segments.

Today, Orm was invited to present his collection on the television program “Expeditie Nederland”, produced by the regional broadcaster RTV Drenthe and broadcasted on national TV by Omroep MAX.

For those curious to explore his impressive collection, it is also available online:
