Codfix: Great Gallery 26

Probably one of the most, if not the most, fragile figurine in the collection. Codfix (French: Acidenitrix) has very thin legs and I am surprised he has survived for so long. Better make a post about him now, before an accident happens.

Codfix’ name

Codfix, I don’t think I have to explain the pun in his name, is one of the villains where you go: “It is too obvious he is the bad guy.” You can smell there’s something rotten about him from a mile away (too easy, I know). The French name, Acidenitrix, is also clear. His French name seems to refer more to his character, while his English name more to his appearance.

Even though his intentions are clear from the start, I still think he is a very well designed character. Asterix and the Great Divide was the first solo project for Uderzo after Goscinny passed away. All in all I think it is a very good book for a first attempt, the only thing that I find a bit too Uderzo-ish is when the Romans first turn into balloons and later shrink down.

This figurine is number 26 in the “Grande Galerie des Personnages”. As with all the figurines it came with a nice little book (in French) with some background information. The book is easier to find than the figurine, must be because of the legs.
