Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia (2026)

Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia is an upcoming CGI animated feature film set to release in October 2026. Directed by Alexandre Heboyan, the movie is produced by M6 Studio, Superprod Animation, and SND Films. It continues the legacy of Asterix and Obelix with a brand-new adventure, this time taking them far beyond Gaul to the ancient and mysterious lands of Nubia. The screenplay is written by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière, both known for their work in French cinema and theatre.

The Story

The story takes place after the previous animated movie and centers around a mishap with the famous magic potion, which causes Asterix and the villagers to revert to childhood. As the Romans threaten to take advantage of the situation, Asterix and Obelix set off for Nubia in search of a remedy involving the baobao tree. Along the way they will meet new unexpected allies. At least one of them we’ve seen before.

This new setting promises to introduce fresh characters and cultural references while staying true to the humor and spirit of the original comics.
