The 12 Tasks of Asterix
The Twelve Tasks of Asterix (Les Douze travaux d’Astérix) is a 1976 English/French animated feature film and the third in the Asterix animated franchise. Unlike its predecessors, this film is based on an original screenplay written by Asterix creators René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. This page is about the release of the album that was released after the movie.
Record
In 1976 a audiobook version of the album was also released on 33 rpm vinyl. You can listen to it on Youtube.
Albums
Two types of albums have been created after the movie; a stripalbum and an illustrated album. Both versions have seen several publications. The album had to be drawn in a hurry and since Albert Uderzo was busy, most work was done by his brother Marcel. The latest edition has not been published in English. This makes the older English releases wanted collector items.
The early releases of the album were mostly used as promotional material. Two Dutch versions I have in my collection were used by magazine Eppo and Chevron to promote their products.
The 2016 release is available in French, Portuguese (Both for Brasil and Portugal), German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian
