The 41st Asterix adventure, Asterix in Lusitania, will be published on 23 October 2025. Written by Fabcaro and illustrated by Didier Conrad, this new story will take our indomitable Gauls all the way to Lusitania, the Roman province that corresponds roughly to modern-day Portugal.

Fans have now been treated to a rare glimpse of the upcoming album: an exclusive pre-drawn panel featuring Asterix, Obelix, Dogmatix, and, of course, a group of unlucky Roman soldiers.

Historical Setting

Lusitania was an important Roman province, famous for its natural resources such as gold and tin. It was also the stage of fierce resistance against Rome, led by the legendary Viriathus, who fought for freedom in much the same way the Gauls do in their small Armorican village.

This historical backdrop gives the perfect stage for an Asterix story, blending real history with humor and adventure.

A Tradition of Teasing

As with previous albums, the creative team has also released a playful teaser interview featuring Asterix and Obelix themselves. In it, the heroes joke about secrecy and embargoes, continuing the long tradition of keeping fans intrigued right up to release day. A temporary cover was made public earlier this year.
