Redbeard

Red Beard is the bumbling but resilient leader of the pirate crew in the Asterix series. With his signature red beard, eye patch, and commanding bluster, he dreams of grand treasures but often meets disaster at the hands of Asterix and Obelix. His ship usually ends up wrecked after these encounters. Despite constant setbacks, Red Beard and his crew remain determined, embodying comic perseverance on the high seas. His antics parody classic pirate tropes with a Gaulish twist.

    Barbe-Rouge is a comic book series created by Belgian authors Jean-Michel Charlier (writer) and Victor Hubinon (illustrator). It narrates the adventures of the pirate Red Beard during the age of buccaneers. Our Red Beard is obviously a caricature of him.
